Thanks to the co-directional rotation, the band saw can be used for extremely precise and clean cuts. The band saw blade is very thin and therefore allows a very narrow kerf. To achieve absolutely clean results, the band tension must always be checked and accurately adjusted. Our ELMAG WorkLine 410.280 DGH BOMAR metal band saw, for example, has a band tension indicator which shows exactly when the saw blade should be tensioned. Most machines have a quick-release lever with which you can adjust the tension quickly and easily. Some machines even have a laser device to mark the cutting line, like our cheaper ELMAG ERGONOMIC 320.258 DG BOMAR metal band saw.
